- The.44 Magnum revolver is a double action, swing-out cylinder revolver. Additionally, the.44 Magnum reloads faster, due to its speed-loader. It has glowing tritium sights. The.44 Magnum revolver is a very durable weapon that can also be concealed. For the unique versions that appear in Fallout: New Vegas, see: Mysterious Magnum.
- Magnum Revolver located in Fallout: New vegas? I already know about the mysterious magnum on the Mysterious Stranger, but besides that i haven't seen any other ones. General location answers would be great.

The Smith & Wesson M29 .44 Magnum revolver is a weapon appearing in Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76. It was also supposed to appear in Van Buren (the canceled Fallout 3 by Black Isle Studios).
The.44 Magnum has much higher recoil and is less accurate compared to the Fallout 3 version. Even with VATS, a gun skill of around 70, and a level of 22, I can't hit anything with it. Showing 1 - 11 of 11 comments.
Background
The Smith & Wesson Model 29 is a six-shot, double-action revolver chambered for the .44 Magnum cartridge, manufactured since 1955. This large frame revolver offers excellent accuracy, firepower, and reliability. Multiple models remain available and quite popular in the wastelands, from the shortened 4 1/2 inch variant to the full size, high end monsters with scopes.[1] By default, the revolvers come with tritium illuminated sights.[2]
Models
Smith & Wesson M29 with 4' barrel
A model with a shorter barrel and dark wooden grip, this M29 retains its maneuverability and excellent performance against hostile targets, while being easier to operate and maneuver.
- It can be upgraded with a speed loader.
Smith & Wesson M29 with 6 1/2' barrel
Fallout 3, Mothership Zeta, Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Fallout Tactics, Fallout Shelter, Van Buren
A model with a full size barrel, delivering excellent performance and accuracy. The only better revolver is the .45-70 monstrosity used for hunting large game. Depsite its firepower, it can be concealed by talented infiltrators.
- Unique variants in Fallout 3 include Blackhawk, Callahan's Magnum (Broken Steel) and Paulson's revolver (Mothership Zeta).
- The unique variant in Fallout: New Vegas is the Mysterious Magnum.
- Unique variants in Fallout 4 include Eddie's Peace, Kellogg's pistol, and The Gainer. A non-unique variant was added by Nuka-World, called the Western revolver.
- Unique variants in Fallout 76 include the Voice of Set and Somerset Special. It also reuses the non-unique variant, the Western revolver.
- For the Mysterious Stranger's unique non-player weapons see Mysterious Stranger's .44 Magnum (Fallout 3) and Mysterious Stranger's .44 Magnum (Fallout: New Vegas).
- The unique scoped variant in Fallout Shelter is the Blackhawk.

The .44 round is an ammunition type in Fallout 4.
Background
The following section is transcluded from .44 Magnum. To modify, please edit the source page.
The powerful .44 Magnum round was originally developed for revolvers. Soon adapted for pistols and even rifles, it is a large-bore cartridge delivering a heavy, sizable bullet at very high velocities. Its excellent stopping power and range also result in plenty of recoil and a distinctive muzzle blast, making it a poor choice for users prizing maneuverability and control over sheer firepower. However, it remains well suited for any inhabitant of the wasteland needing a round capable of stopping monsters, human or otherwise.
Characteristics
The following section is transcluded from .44 Magnum. To modify, please edit the source page.
The basic .44 Magnum ammunition is a standard full metal jacket bullet: A soft metal core surrounded by a jacket made from tougher metal. This allows for higher muzzle velocities and greater damage, as well as increased performance against armor. The increased damage is reduced somewhat by the fact that the metal jacket limits the expansion, resulting in less kinetic energy transferred to the target.
